A month later...
-I like this time of year a lot. Green, sprouting, bursting, dusk and dawn, laundry on the line, mowing, flowers. Lots of fresh air. Naps come easier. New places and avenues for imagination to come alive.
-Somethings I don't like... mowing all the time- well I would if I could mow all the time. It's more of a stress now. Another thing- bugs that come alive and like to live in my house. I wonder what part of the house they are setting up camp in.
-My sister welded... something for these crazy two. Their own feeder. Eli made a sign. Now we need some feed.
-Mother's Day was lovely. I spent the whole day in the garage organizing. I was in my element. All day. I got to finish the task! Mild temps, a hard rain shower, radio to sing with. I was alone- except for this little lady who brought me every dandelion she could find.
-Garden planted. That was mentally wearing. Trying to be mindful of companion planting. Still don't have everything out there yet. Trying new things- mangel, kale and broccoli. Lots I'd like to try. The first time planting I've felt like I don't have enough room. Usually I've planted half, or thrown in flowers to fill in the gaps. This time I'm trying to squeak something into a little space. I've learned that planting the garden with little kids goes much better with a fence around it. There is a makeshift one of strings and branches that D cut from last year. Ev still pushes the boundaries and digs on the edge of it.
-Someone turned 3! The night before her birthday she was super sweet- giving everyone hugs and kisses- saying “Goodnight! See you tomorrow on my birthday!” And she'd give us a cheesy grin and linger at the doorway for one last wave goodnight. And oh man the next morning when she woke up she was all smiles all the way down the stairs. Just beaming.
-Aunt K was here for 2 weeks. It was good for us all. And now we are in withdrawl. :( There was exercise, healthy eating (ahem, except for the 6 birthday cupcakes I devoured- ah it could have been more). Clean kitchen, tag team on bed time and day time routines. Lots of cuddles, reading. It was good. And then to top it off G'ma Sup was there for the end of her stay!
-T-ball. Some special times as E is starting this. It's good for us all. So glad they have this program in town.
It was time to post something. I had a little lady keeping me company while I wrote this. She told me I was writing a lot of words. So, it's probably time to end this for now. Until next month? I hope not. Maybe tomorrow? :) We'll see. I'm taking each day as it comes.
