Today... cookies. In order to restrain myself and have some sense of portion control this idea came to me last night before falling asleep:

I admit I have little self-control with sweets. I'd make a batch and sometimes D would get none, while the kids got maybe a dozen. Seriously. And that is why I am so averted to them (well not only cause they aren't good for you as well). I know my weakness, and the only time treats enter the house is major holidays or special occasions. Which quite honestly seem to come around more often than I'd like. I think I'll be enlisting the help of the jar from here on out with candy that comes in too.

And something else to share today. We made this a while back. It was quite the undertaking- a whole afternoon of experimenting. And when was all said and done, only 1 string survived. I have a new batch of strings to add, but not quite ready for that undertaking. We need to rethink somethings.

At one point it was longer on the end and had a pop bottle attached which helped to resonate the sound. But that proved to be too great a weapon and hard to manage at that length for the kids. It does resonate when place against something hollow. Kind of fun.
