A good helper...

Wiping up the table...

Helping me wash dishes... he was insistent upon helping today. He brought over his little brown booster chair and motioned that I should bring over the green chair.

I have to do a little prep before he gets up there... all the silverware goes into the sink, plates are scraped and stacked, the clean silverware in the drawer is removed to a safe spot (otherwise he throws them in the dish water too), and I have to space out the stacks otherwise he puts it all in at once.

But it's all worth it. We've only had a few broken dishes...

I seem to get dishes done a lot faster with his help. I'm racing to keep up with him as he puts them in the sink. :)

ps. Keep the people of Japan in your prayers if you would... the area that I lived in was not directly affected as they are in the mountains and on the other side. But as we all know, natural disasters do affect us all in one way or another. If you go to my links page and click on DCE Houdini- she is sharing first hand about this.

A flashback...

Family Day...

Thursdays are good days around here. It's the one day a week that Dallas doesn't work and so it's our family day. I wanted to start this tradition now, cause I think it will be an important one when the kids get bigger. Especially to have that special time with their dad. What we do on this day is never set in stone... and I have ideas of what it could be in the future. But for the most part it is just being together in one way or another.... having some good or special meal(s) (usually pancakes is on the menu- something we always had on Saturdays in my family)... doing things together... going somewhere together... or just being together. Today was mostly a "be" day.

{One of his favorite places to be... with dad, doing whatever.}

{E and I took a walk and got some fresh air. D was right when he said that the wind was a bit cold... so our time out was short}

{for some reason, I made sushi again... it went a lot better this time... and D even liked it... and has my hopes up that once I can have "real" sushi, we'll have to take a trip to Fargo and find some! yum!!}

{and we ALL ate it! Elijah did really good and seemed to like it. He ate one whole one and then played with the second...}

It was a good day. Kind of feels like a Saturday for me. More restful, sometimes too restful and then I don't stay on top of meals. May have to plan ahead and make crockpot type meals so I don't have to be in the kitchen most of the day. I even managed to do a bit if crafting... crocheting... nothing exciting- just my dish towel project. But it was good to be off my feet and give my legs a break. Just about at 30wks. I'll have to take a picture and post the progress. Feeling more tired all of a sudden. And this little lady is a mover and a shaker. Today it felt like a "bowl full of jelly". It is fun though feeling her move so much. Today I spent several moments wondering how Elijah is going to interact with her... I am looking forward to it. By the time Lent is over (6 wks)... there will only be 4 wks left! Crazy. :)

Well I'm off to bed... everyone else has ended their day here... and now it's my turn to as well.
