Sushi recap...

So I did make sushi that one night... a long time ago... :) Since then, we've celebrated 2 birthdays and thanksgiving... had some firsts- like playing the snow with Elijah, blanket fort fun, and hearing a new baby heartbeat (good and strong!). :) But for now, just have the time and brain power to post this. If you have real questions on how to make sushi- google it. There are some great videos out there that show you step by step how to do things.

Snow is predicted for tonight... a definite chill to the air. Now would be a good time for baking, but I have a different craving...

My mouth just waters at the thought of sushi! These pictures are not helping either. {isn't your mouth watering too? - i've been having flashbacks to my time in japan all day - the fresh sushi - all sorts of yummy dishes i got to try while i was there, but never took the time to learn how to make them! } However, since I'm pregnant I can't have the raw fish, but I can still make some veggie rolls! I've got my list of groceries that hopefully my D can pick up for me tonight when he goes into work. :)

And someone turned 1 yesterday!! I made him some birthday crepes and his favorite meal of spaghetti. And all throughout the day, I had the screen saver set to play through all his pictures. There was a lot to reflect on... and lots to be thankful for. And in a matter a months we are going to be starting all over again. I'm a bit nervous about the transition- how he'll react to not being the center of my attention throughout the day. But no real reason to worry about it, but something to ponder and get your stories on how you helped your first borns adjust to a sibling. :) { He's doing his cheesy squint for me. :)}

We've got a few birthdays coming up... and I've been feeling crafty... which a good sign that I'm feeling better all around.

Even managed to clean some windows...

We spend a lot of time inside, so to be able to see outside clearly is nice.
So like I said, these are good signs that I'm feeling better all around. Still have the days where I would like to sleep or do nothing all day, but it's easier to get out of those funks when I have someone to help me bear the load. My dear husband was wonderful last night and helped me clean the kitchen, sweep, pick up- while I tackled the dishes that have been haunting me for the last few days. I just couldn't get them all done. I'd get a few done- make a meal and then voila! I had another stack of dishes. I was entertaining thoughts of a dishwasher... but in the end I just don't have a place for it, nor do I really want one deep down. :) Anywho, the point of sharing this is that I'm grateful his help... just that little bit goes a long way.
