A day of deep reflection and so much more...
Today has changed my life... This past Sunday, 5 post abortive women courageously shared their story with those gathered at a church in Jamestown... and I was there. It's time we heard more of these stories so we truly know the horror and suffering abortion causes... I thank God these women were brave enough to share their stories... that they found Jesus at the end of their dark tunnel and end the silent torment that the devil had them in. I pray more will hear... will find healing... will be dissuaded from having one themselves...
The beauty of Motherhood...
I really appreciated this post. I'm quite silly and sometimes struggle with not looking the way I once did... that bearing a child changed me permanently... this post by "heatherlady" summed up those feelings quite well for me and helped remind me to see the beauty of that process and the gift those stretch marks are... and mostly to not focus on the what was but what I am now:
"Why I love my Stretch marks". I hope this is an encouragement to other mothers as well.
Getting closer... I made a few mistakes, so I'm missing some. The curvy letters are the hardest to make look good. They are quite fun though! And they will make great gifts. I went online and bought a bunch of magnets... enough to make 5 sets.
This was a much anticipated day in our household...
It was destined for Dallas...
His long awaited scooter, Enrique (Rick in English).
So far everything is working... one never knows when you get a scooter from China. Strike that... the front brake doesn't work and he did some fixing on the carburetor. Good thing he knows how to fix those things. Someday I'll get a ride as well... I've even got my own helmet. We were walking around the house with our helmets on one night... I think our little guy thinks we are quite strange somedays. But I'm sure he will soon like it just as much as we do.
The little man is rolling!
I tried to get a photo of him mid-roll... but he's too quick for me. I would get him on his stomach, turn to grab the camera and he'd already be on his back again.
And wow it's taken me all day to get my dishes done... I've been rather distracted by all sorts of things... things I'd rather do than dishes. :)
[FYI- we use jars as drinking glasses... they are sturdy and in abundance... and then some day IF I ever get into canning... I have them. There are so many things I've always wanted to do that I've come to realize, I just might not do anymore... canning might be one of those things I'm giving up on. Oh and one more thing about this photo... note the "counter top"... that is contact paper and it has lasted a lot longer than any of us ever thought it would!]
This was in progress before we bought the house and it has progressed a bit fast this winter with the rain now. Just one more thing for the "Spring To-Do List".
A hymn from last night's Lenten service...
O Christ, You walked the Road (Lutheran Service Book #424)
O Christ You walked the road,
Our wandering feet must go.
You faced with us temptation's pow'r,
And fought our anceint foe.
No Bread of earth alone,
Can fill our hung'ring hearts.
Lord, help us seek Your living Word,
The food Your grace imparts.
No blinding sign we ask,
No wonder from above.
Lord help us place our trust alone
In your unswerving love.
When lures of easy gain
With promise brightly shine,
Lord, help us seek Your kingdom first;
Our wills with Yours align.
O Christ, you walked the road
Our wandering feet must go.
Stay with us through temptation's hour
To fight our ancient foe.
