ABC's and visitors
I guess I'll start with visitors. My mom and sister came up for the weekend. It was fun to share the weekend with them... having them see Elijah and all the things he does. Pictures just don't give you the full idea... being there in person is much better. And they brought my dad's great camera... so we got a couple nice shots from the weekend. These two are my favorites.
And ABC's.... we had craft night while mom and k were here. I actually had a chance to attempt something. And I actually had something I wanted to do!
I found the Plush Alphabet and instantly liked it! So here are the first 3 attempts. Thankfully we have craft night once again this weekend... so I can continue this then! Knowing that I have time set aside later helps me focus on chores and tasks now. Kind of feel like a kid... "you need to get all your chores done before you can play!" Playing is a lot more fun when I know everything else is done.
So close! It just needs some finishing trim. I'm debating whether I want to leave it open.
Went with 3 shelves for the moment. I can always change that if I need too. The best part of this project is that all the wood we used was just stuff around the house. And the floor is a counter top piece- the piece left over when you make a hole for the sink.
And I started to paint our bedroom... I got one wall started... mostly to see what it's going to look like. I'm painting the baseboard white... otherwise had been painted an ugly brown like the floor. Someday we'll redo the floor too... but that will be awhile.
3 Months and 2 days!
How fast you are growing little one!
Compared to the day we brought you home...
And in other news... yet another house project... we've got a couple in the works... but this will be the highlighted one for this post. The bathroom "closet"... as you can see... it was this tiny little cabinet in the wall.
Well it just wasn't cutting it especially with all the room that was hiding behind it. So Dallas knocked out all the tile and sheetrock and did the tedious job of dismantling the cabinet. It was quite solid and not meant to come out.
And now this weekend... Dallas's parents have been out helping with projects... this one in particular. It's coming along quite nicely! We bought this paneling and have had it lying around our kitchen for too long now. It was time to be used.
The plan is to have 4 shelves for towels and linens... plus room below for the dirty clothes hamper. I'm looking forward to all that space!
So we're trying some different things to fight the flat head syndrome besides tummy time. He's been showing great head control so we've been trying out his new toys from Christmas: the Bumbo and his swing. He doesn't show enthusiasm for either just yet, but doesn't fuss that much when in the swing. It's funny to see his little feet barely reach the ground and move his self around.
And with all this new activity he is sleeping for longer stretches. Last night he woke only at 1:30 and then 7am (weird!). I'm going to have to record one of his chatty spells. It's so much fun. Right now he is on the floor gazing at the hanging snow flakes and talking up a storm.
ps. It's been one of those days... you know ... the one where the bath is done... two hours later right after eating, he spits up just about everything that went down (enter outfit #2 for the day)... and then 2 hrs later after the next feeding he messes through the diaper all up the back (enter outfit #3 for the day). Good times. :)
A little photo shoot...the many faces of E
This is why I never tire of looking at his face. :) All within 2 minutes... so many different expressions. He brings me much joy.
