I'm still here... been on the computer a lot lately, though obviously not blogging. :) I've been updating websites I manage. It's always fun to create there because the possibilities are endless and the results are immediate. And it's a good time to do a lot tweeking and fine tuning of code. So much of it was needless now that I know new and more efficient ways of doing things. And many thanks to my hubby for making up some slick code that greatly simplifies tasks I have to do on websites each week. If you're curious to see what I've been doing web-wise you can check it out here: www.ndlll.org and go to View -> Page Source.

As far as what we've been up to... we've been healing up, staying warm. I've been working on christmas gifts when the time permits- there have been more than enough late nights lately.

To be honest, I have a hard time going to bed knowing that Elijah is sound asleep and I have all this free time- so I want to use it up! But it is starting to take it's toll... good thing Christmas is coming- then I'll be in someone else's house, with no chores or crafts to do and I can just relax. :)

We've all been a little under the weather this week. Hope to be back at it next week. Have a great weekend!

A snow day...

{I'm posting early --sat night-- so I don't have to stay up until midnight... got to be ready for the long busy Sundays... but it's only appropriate cause this is what we did today!}

We were dumped on Friday, and this is the beautiful aftermath. We'd been inside all week and it was time to break free!

"I'm not to sure about this mom..."

I got his boots on (thank you Lord!) so he could actually walk around and explore...

He managed the ramp quite well. And he only face planted once and took it pretty well.

I shoveled a few paths for him to walk on, but that wasn't doing it for him, until I found the sled. If I took him out of the sled, he would climb back in. When I took him inside the first time he cried, but those poor little cheeks needed a break. Once D was ready to go outside, he took him out again. He was loving it! He got pulled all over the yard. He was just so content.

He tried the belly down... it was good until the snow started flying in the face.

We took a little walk around town.

Watching the plow do it's work. {It's so fun to watch those two together}

I took this from inside. He was watching D shovel.
What a beautiful day, what a blessing to be able to enjoy it! Thank you Lord. :)

Thanksgiving recap...

E and G'pa

hanging with the cousins

Before...

After... he's a good little eater... and I've discovered that he REALLY likes olives. Boy did that "more" sign come out for those.

Getting ready to play in the snow for the first time with Dad. Not a fan of getting all dressed up.

I think he had an okay time. D took him around the side of the house and they played on the hill for about 20minutes and then that was enough. Enough for his first taste of true winter. :)

Helping his aunt play cards.

Getting rides in the dump truck... he liked this alot!! Thanks A!

Playing with P, but P saw it like invading his space. But he was a gracious cousin and let him play. Thanks P!
It was a good two days jammed packed of family, food and sausage making. I didn't bother to take pictures. :) Looking forward to this new batch.

Around the house...

Bringing out the decorations, filled with memories, and hopefully some new ones too.

The sledding hill, I made in Industrial Tech class in highschool. Went through the scrap bin and had some fun. Pretty sure I broke some rules about not getting your fingers too close to the sander and band saw.
The advent calendar that hung in my parent's house... now adorns our wall. I remember wanting to be the one who got out the next little decoration... but now that it's just me, I find myself eager for Elijah to grow up and share in the fun and deeper meaning.

A new mobile for the corner. My leaves were hanging there and I wanted something easy and festive. I want to make more and use it as garland. We'll see what happens.

"O Christmas Tree..."- we've been listening to the Veggie Tales Christmas on CD. Today Elijah signed "more" and looked at the CD player when it was done. "More" is being used a lot now... kind of as univeral sign for wanting something. We'll work on that. Anywho, the tree. A lovely hand-me-down from elderly friends at church who were tired of getting the big tree out and decorating. The top half is full of decorations from my childhood.
It's been a good couple weeks. Getting into a groove, anticipating, creating, reflecting, playing, resting, being grateful. Being grateful truly is good medicine for the heart.

ps. Thanks for all the lovely messages... I've been rather poor at responding. Know that they are appreciated and I'll try to do better at responding.

Bring on the belly...

15weeks 5days (or so my little counter tells me). When I get to 20wks, I'll have to do a comparison photo to Elijah's 20wk belly photo. Feeling more butterfly movements everyday!
