Some good reads from a great website... hope you have a great weekend... out to work on the garden.

30...

30... that's what I turned yesterday.
Thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday! I always feel a bit sheepish when my birthday comes around cause I remember then just how many birthday's I've missed already. I'm terrible at getting birthday wishes off in a timely matter. grrr... I should start a list of "new year's resolutions" now for next year. Here are a few photos from the day:

my new blueberry bush and tulips inside...

yellow tulips erupted yesterday...

the red ones are on their way...

the weather was perfect... the sandals came out...

dug in the garden...

hung two loads of laundry out...

last day of babysitting a 1-yr old this is my attempt at making a toy to play with...

the alphabet is done and wrapped up for a little boy's birthday- which happens to be today...

and I got to spend the evening with my two boys... one of which crashed early.
A good start to the next 30yrs Lord willing!

Spring has sprung! Halleluia!

First and foremost... I hope everyone had a meaningful and wonder filled Easter and Lent... some of my favorite posts expounding upon this day: anything from A Holy Experience, Bits of Sunshine: Good Friday, and this one :).
Some pictures for you for today and I'll have to post on them a little bit later... I'm on a time crunch for the morning, but felt pressed to post since it's been a couple weeks!... Well, plans change often around here and now I find myself with a few moments to go back and tell you about these pictures. :)
This is quick glance at our "new" bedroom. Really the only thing new is the paint job... but what a difference a little paint can make! I've been admiring darker colors and gray in particular. Gray is such an easy color to accessorize... and nice for someone like me who likes to change things up often.

This is one of the only rooms that has the original wood work still in it. The green chair is from D's grandparents. I'll show you the rest of the room some other time... once I get my new duvet cover done. :)
I show this mostly for those who've been to our house. So it's been bothering me for a while... there was this nice little side walk that goes out to the mail box, where we take our trash, and that led up to the porch. However, it was blocked off by a railing... so I cut it... ok I attempted to cut it, but D finished it for me. The skill saw is still a little scary to me.

It's funny though... now that it's done and I can go that way... I still find myself going all the way around to the ramp. :) I need a snow shoveled path to retrain me.

And the tulips are coming!!

And my friend gave me some irises last fall...

And this one is from this weekend... I have a video to go along with this photo, but I need to edit it. This is the first belly laughing session he has had. My mom was making him laugh so hard, and it was contagious.
